Ingredients

  • Butter (2 sticks)
  • Blanched almonds (1 cup)
  • Sugar (1 cup)
  • Water (1 tbsp)
  • Light corn syrup (1 tbsp)
  • Semi-sweet chocolate chips (6 oz)

Directions

  1. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Add butter, almonds, sugar, water, and corn syrup to a saucepan.
  3. Stir constantly over medium heat until one shade darker than light brown sugar, ~12 minutes.
  4. Pour onto prepared cookie sheet and top with chocolate
  5. Spread chocolate on top as it melts
  6. Cool in refrigerator.
  7. Break into pieces.

Notes

  • Use whatever kind of chocolate you prefer. If using bars instead of chips, break it into small pieces for melting.
  • Dark corn syrup works fine if light corn syrup isn’t available.
