Ingredients:

  • Whole milk (1 cup)
  • Light brown sugar (1 cup)
  • White sugar (2 cups)
  • Unsalted butter (3 tbsp)
  • Vanilla extract (1 tsp)

Directions:

  1. Boil milk and sugars in a 3 qt. saucepan over medium-high heat, stirring constantly.
  2. Reduce heat to medium and cook without stirring until temperature reaches 236°F.
  3. Remove from heat and add butter and vanilla without stirring.
  4. Let cool until temperature reaches 120°F.
  5. While mixture cools, line an 8x8" baking pan with parchment paper.
  6. When mixture cools, stir with a wooden spoon until butter is fully incorporated and mixture starts to thicken.
  7. Pour into baking pan and chill until firm, then cut into squares.
