Ingredients:

  • Chuck roast (4 lbs)
  • Salt (1 tsp)
  • Black pepper (1/4 tsp)
  • Garlic powder (1/4 tsp)
  • Dry onion soup mix (1 packet)
  • Water (1 cup)
  • Carrots (3)
  • White onion (1)
  • Russet potatoes (3)
  • Parsnip (1)
  • Bay leaves (2)

Directions:

  1. Peel and chop onion, carrots, and parsnip. Peel and cube potatoes.
  2. Season roast on all sides with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  3. Brown roast on all sides in a large skillet over high heat.
  4. Place roast in slow cooker and add remaining ingredients.
  5. Cook on low for 8-10 hours.
  6. Remove bay leaves and serve.
