Ingredients:

  • Heavy cream (1-3/4 cups)
  • Cocoa powder (1/3 cup)
  • Sugar (3/4 cup)
  • Semi-sweet chocolate chips (1/2 cup)
  • Whole milk (1-3/4 cups)
  • Vanilla extract (1 tsp)
  • Salt (1/8 tsp)
  • Cinnamon (1-1/4 tsp)
  • Chili powder (2-3 tsp, to taste)

Directions:

  1. Freeze freezer bowl for at least 24 hours.
  2. Whisk together cream, cocoa, and sugar in a saucepan over medium-high heat.
  3. Continue whisking constantly until the mixture comes to a rolling boil.
  4. Remove from heat and immediately add chocolate chips.
  5. Whisk until chocolate chips have completely melted.
  6. Stir in milk, vanilla, salt, cinnamon, and chili powder.
  7. Cover and refrigerate until chilled (at least 2 hours).
  8. Churn in ice cream maker for 30 minutes.
  9. Transfer to an airtight container and freeze until firm.
